“3 old Chairmen returned for 2nd term and 10 are new Ones. 

The newly elected Chairmen of the 13 LGAs in Nasarawa State today took oath of office.

Governor Abdullahi Sule administered the oath of office to them at an event that took place at Aliyu Akwe Doma’s Banquet Hall Government House Lafia.

Governor Abdullahi Sule tasked them on selfless service noting that his administration placed top most priority on grassroots development hence the need for them to live above board.

The Governor spoke extensively on ranging issues on LG election and administration as well as the quest of his government to provide the much needed dividends of democracy.

The Speaker of the State Assembly Rt.Hon.Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi led other members of the House to the occasion which had in attendance the Emir of Lafia Justice Sidi Bage (Rtd) who led other traditional rulers.

Others in attendance included Dr. Emmanuel Akaba the State Dep. Governor, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu,State Chief Judge, Justice Aisha Bashir, Former Speaker of the State Assembly Rt.Hon. Musa Ahmed Muhammed, APC House of Representatives Members in the State, Damishi Luka Barau Former Dep. Governor among other prominent sons and daughters of the State.

Among the newly sworn in Chairmen Three are old ones who returned for second term which are that of Lafia LG Hon. Aminu Muazu Maifata, Nasarawa Eggon LG Danlami Idris Muhammed and Nasarawa LG Hon. Muhammed Sani Ottos.

The 10 new ones are 1.Emmanuel Lawi Joseph (Akwanga) 2.Usman Umar (Awe) 3.Ahmed Sarki Usman (Doma) 4.John Bawa Thomas (Karu) 5.Muhammed Baba Shehu (Keffi) 6. Awalu Adamu (Kokona) 7.Sanusi Abdul Giza (Keana) 8.Ozeh Joshua Yekpowudu (Obi) 9.Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas (Toto) 10. Asiru Bala Suleiman (Wamba).

It was reported that this was the first occasion the banquet hall in government house could not accommodate the large numbers of people from various LG that gathered to witnessed the event.
