Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has been commended for his youth inclusiveness strategy in the governance of the State.
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, a 2023 Presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gave the commendation when he paid a courtesy visit on Governor Bello at the Lugard House – Government House, Lokoja.
He noted that Governor Bello’s inclusion of youths in governance would enable the younger ones learn governance and become good future leaders.
Governor Wike said he was in Lokoja as part of his ongoing consultation with delegates of the PDP to solicit their support to enable him win the 2023 Presidential ticket of the Party, explaining that it was right for him to pay a visit on the Governor irrespective of Party differences as political parties were vehicles to convey individuals to power.
The Rivers Governor also wished Bello, an All Progressives Congress (APC) 2023 Presidential aspirant, success in the Party’s forthcoming Primaries.
“Your Excellency, let me first of all commend you for what you are doing in Kogi State. I have seen your Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, other appointees that I have seen here are so young
“Involving youths in governance is not just sending them to the social media for the campaign but engaging them in active governance the way you are doing here so, I commend you for what you are doing” Wike said.
Responding, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, appreciated Governor Wike for recognizing his administration’s quest and efforts to mentor the younger generation.
Governor Bello urged his Rivers State Counterpart to tour the State and witness the developmental strides of his administration, urging him to interact with his Party Members and residents to ascertain the affairs of the people of the Confluence State.
“Politically, prior to my administration, there used to be rancor amongst political Parties in Kogi but under my watch, the APC, PDP and all other political Parties are cohabiting and living in peace with one another”
The 2023 APC Presidential aspirant noted that he was in the Presidential Race to build on the successes and achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari, assuring that his Leadership as the President of the Country would sustain the momentum of the Buhari’s administration.
Governor Bello added that he was also certain that the PDP Presidential hopeful would throw his weight behind him in support of the younger generation’s desire to lead the Nation come 2023.
