In the 21stcenturya, there are citizens who can sacrifice anythin, including the loss of aspiration to elective Office for a virile, United and egalitarian Nation. Governor Simon Lalong, the Workaholic and detribalised Governor of Plateau State belongs here.
It’s no longer news that Simon Bako Lalong headed the Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which navigated the length and breath of Nigeria seeking the support of the electorate for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President of Nigeria. He played the role of a Campaign DG in a very unique manner, carrying every segment of the Nigerian society along.

This no doubt manifested in the massive endorsement of the candidature of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday, 25th February, 2023.
Though the Leadership he provided in PCC has today yielded dividends following the Victory of his party which now has a President waiting to be sworn in, it is sad that this Distinguished Leader whose reign as Governor of Plateau State positively changed the fortunes of the area lost his bid to become a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

As painful as this may seem to many of his admirers, his acceptance to lead a campaign organization ladened with a Muslim Muslim ticket courted hatred and envy from within and without. His resolve to believe strongly in the ability and capability of a candidate to deliver rather than religious and ethno tribal chauvinism was also used against him.
However, Governor Simon Bako Lalong has triumphed over primordial sentiment as God has positioned him to still play a key role in the project called Nigeria.

No doubt, the loss of a Seat at the Senate for Simon Lalong is a monumental loss for Plateau State as it would have been an opportunity to produce a ranking Leader at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly having served previously as Speaker of the Plateau state House of Assembly, A sure gateway that would have earned Governor Lalong the Senate President of Nigeria.

Kuso in his press Conference in Lagos Saturday said Governor Lalong has written his name in gold demystifying the believe that same faith ticket is a misnomer.

Dr. Kuso who is National Youth Ambassador told the press that From which ever angle we may look at it, Nigeria has gained from the unique leadership qualities of a very unique son of the Plateau, his loss at the Senatorial election not withstanding.
