“Governor Yahaya Bello and I are in Good Terms” – Sen. Oseni Clears the Air

…”When I couldn’t clinch the Ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a sitting Senator who has a cordial relationship with the incumbent Governor; ordinarily in the political environment people will think there is an issue between myself and the Governor BUT THE REVERSE IS THE CASE

“Governor Yahaya Bello is my Boss, he brought into politics, I am a pure technocrat – a Banker, he saw what I was doing and brought me into politics and I have worked with him first as the Chairman of the Kogi State Internal Revenue Services

“Following my outstanding performance, he supported me to the National Assembly to contribute my quota

“He is my Boss and will remain my Boss, there is no fracas between us, that will be the last thing that will happen in this world because I am 100% loyal to him”

Those were the words of the Senator Representing Kogi Central at the National Assembly, Sen. Yakubu Oseni, while speaking with Journalists in Abuja on the rumor making the rounds of fracas between him and Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.

Sen. Oseni says his relationship with Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, remain intact, describing the rumor as unfounded.

He pointed out that such was being spread by enemies of progress, development and peace.

While appreciating Governor Bello for bringing him into politics, the Lawmaker declared his unalloyed loyalty to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.

Speaking about the Primary Election of Kogi Central where he lost his reelection bid, Senator Yakubu Oseni said such was not the handmade of Governor Bello, saying there are norms associated with various areas that must be sustained.

He described Governor Bello as a just leader who gives equal opportunity to all to exercise their franchise and commended him for his efforts at keeping members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) together in the State.

“Politics is local and is being played locally, there are areas that zoning system is adopted so once it’s your turn, it can’t be changed

“My State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello is a just and fair fellow that doesn’t want to hurt one person for another and has to play the game the way it is so that he won’t truncate the structure he met on ground

“My zone has done there’s so he has to bitterly take it to the zone that is expected to serve next because that is how it is being played in my zone

“I didn’t see anything wrong with all that played out at the Primaries because he has to play the game by the rule so, I remain loyal to him at all times

“After the primaries, we have been together, I have been visiting him and I have also been attending his events, I still remain his boy because he brought me up politically

“There is a saying that hard work deserves more work, so maybe when next it’s coming to my zone since I have done well, the people may want to consider me again”

Responding to the rumor of his plans to decamp to another Party, the Senator Representing Kogi Central said: “Yes, it is Possible I decamp from the APC ONLY WHEN YAHAYA BELLO IS DECAMPING, OUTSIDE THIS SUCH WILL NOT HAPPEN, I REMAIN UNDER HIS CANOPY”

Senator Oseni said he is focus on delivering on his mandate at the National Assembly, stressing that he will not relent at touching the lives of the people of the Central Senatorial District positively.

He appreciated his supporters and members of the APC for their love towards him during the Primaries, calling on them to sustain their loyalty to the Party.

“I still have almost a year at the National Assembly so I am concentrating on doing my job meticulously, I am still waiting to hear from my Boss to know the next move, if he says go right or left, I will”

Senator Oseni who rated Governor Bello high in the area of security of lives and property of the people of Kogi State, however enjoined him to double his efforts to enable him sustain his legacy.

“When you talk of security even though no government can have 100% of it, but Yahaya Bello’s government has tried very well but I am seeing some issues of insecurity coming up again

“So I will advise he change tactics in fighting insecurity in the State because some pockets of insecurity is resurfacing in some Areas in the State

“His performance in the area of security is top-notch and I want him to sustain such record, that is why I am advising he change his tactics and keep his slate clean security wise

“Infrastructural wise, I will advise that at this point, he concentrate and complete all projects so that the incoming government will not abandon his projects as commonly practiced in Nigeria

“Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello has a handful of projects spread across the three Senatorial Districts of the State, so I advise he complete and Commission them so that there won’t be issues of abandoned projects after his tenure”

Recall that, Senator Yakubu Oseni, the Senator representing the Kogi Central at the National Assembly lost his reelection bid at the Primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to a serving Commissioner from the Area, Engr. Abubakar Ohere, the Kogi Central Senatorial flag bearer of the Party ahead of the 2023 General Elections.
