The chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Abubakar Jibrin Giri has congratulated the nominated speaker of the council legislative arm, Mohammed Ibrahim Ibwa.

Our correspondent report that the new speaker is being elected for the third term as a councilor representing the Ibwa ward of the council.

The new speaker emerged through a unanimous resolution of other elected councilors at an event held at the legislative chambers of the council on Wednesday.

The council chairman, Alhaji Giri, who received the new speaker in his office, described him as a well-grounded politician that can lead the legislative members to victory with his experience.

He urged other members of the legislative arm to cooperate with the new speaker to ensure the success of the APC-led administration of the council.

“The party differences are over, we should all put our heads together to ensure the betterment of our people that voted for us during the election,” he said.

Responding, the new speaker of the council, enjoined his colleagues to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship for the unity and success of the present APC led administration.

He pledged to carry along all other members of the legislative arm for the betterment and development of the Gwagwalada area council.
