The chairman Gwagwalada arearea council, Alhaji Abubakar Jibrin Giri, sworn-in Alhaji Mohammed Saba, as the new secretary of the council.

Our correspondent report that the council scribe, until his appointment was the senior special assistant on chieftaincy affairs and community relations to the minister of state for FCT, Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu.

Giri, while speaking at the event which held at the council secretariat conference hall on Thursday, said his desire to appoint Alhaji Saba as the new scribe was to help his administration to achieve its desire goal through providing dividend of democracy to the people of the area.

He, therefore, charge the new council secretary to be alive to his duties to enable the new administration meets its desire objective especially in the area infrastructural development and human development.

In his acceptance speech, the new council secretary , Alhaji Muhammad saba, appreciated the council chairman and other stake holders for finding him worthy of the position, while pledge to serve sincerely in order to bring governance closer to the people at the grassroots.

Meanwhile, the council chairman also sworn-in principal officers of the council legislative arm.

The inauguration was presided over by the clerk of the house, while the council legal officer administered the oath of office.

The council speaker, Mohammed Ibrahim Ibwa, who spoke on behalf of the legislative members, pledge to work as a team for the smooth running of the council administration .

In his remarks ,the council chairman, Giri charge the legislators to put aside party difference as elections are over.

“So it is time for real governance,our people expect much from us ,we most work together to achieve success” he said.
