Gwagwalada Residents Appeal To Senator Aduda, Sokodabo on the State of Roads.

The residents of Sheik Hamdan Junction to Almohass and Living Stone school linking old Gutunku area of Gwagwalada area council has appeal to Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda and his counterpart in the House of Representatives, Usman Sokodabo to intervene in the grading and completion of their road abandoned by the local government, after selling some plots for shop owners along the area.

The appeal became necessary after all efforts to attract the attention of Gwagwalada area council did not yield any positive results.

The Gwagwalada local government awarded the grading of the road linking old Kutunku, but abandoned it halfway, after pouring of red laterite, making the road impassable and rendering the residents stranded in the last three months, coinciding with the rainy season.

The people of the area are in serious dillema, whenever it rains people hardly come out from the area for normal activities.

The situation was worsened by the bad state of the main road linking Gwagwalada market from Radio House abandoned by the FCT administration, after removing the old tar for reconstruction about three years ago.

“All appeal to the Ministers of FCT and Gwagwalada area council had fell on deaf ears, as the situation is also applicable to other parts of the council.” One of the residents Aminu Zakari lamented.

“We are appealing to particularly Senator Tanimu Aduda and Usman Sokodabo as they don’t have records of abandoned projects in the six area council’s of the FCT.” Another resident , Yahaya Lawan exclaimed.

“Roads has been constructed in Angwan dodo and other areas of the council as at when due, stating the plight of the people of Almohass was worrisome particularly at this season of rain.” Says Musa Chundo.
