Hon. Joseph Asuku Bello felicitates with Christians across the country and most especially the good people of Adavi and Okehi Federal Constituency in Kogi State as Jesus’ resurrection is celebrated on Easter.
The lawmaker stated in his easter message signed and made available to Globaltimesnigeria, according to him Easter is the most important festival in the Christian calendar and represents God’s redemptive mission over humanity, the triumph of light over darkness, hope over despair and good over evil.
” I join our Christian brothers and sisters in Nigeria and across the world to celebrate the Easter festivities. This commemoration is a time for deep reflection as it marks the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and his victory over death. It is time to reach out to our brothers and sisters in need “
” The Resurrection of Jesus Christ we celebrate today is also a time to emulate the virtues of love, sacrifice, forgiveness, humility, courage and endurance, which Christ embodied and demonstrated during His earthly ministry ” he said
The last advice Jesus Christ gave us was “love one another, as I have loved you” so I urge all Christians and non-Christians alike to answer this call by showing selfless love especially to the less privileged in our midst in this very trying period when our country and the world is fighting the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
“It is also a time for all of us — regardless of faith, or ethnicity — to come together to pray for those infected and the complete healing of the whole World from this deadly virus, in the spirit of Christ’s resurrection. I also want us all to appreciate our healthcare workers in the frontline for the battle against COVID-19 and God’s protection on them.
