“She is a mole leaking information from the governor’s administration to Oshiomhole”.

It is no longer news Mrs Omoua Oni-Opkaku tendered her official resignation letter from the governor’s cabinet earlier today. What will however come as a surprise to everyone was how she manipulated the system, lied and absconded with government vehicles.

A reliable source close to the former Commissioner for Environment said she has been working as a mole for the Oshiomhole-led EPM for as far back as January this year. She flew to Lagos before the Covid-19 hit and met with an aide to Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of APC. There, she was instructed by Tinubu, via his aide, to feed them useful information they could use against the Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki.

While she was leaking information from the governor’s administration to Oshiomhole, simultaneously, she was strategizing and planning on how to loot the government when she leaves.

After Godwin Obaseki official dumped APC for PDP, in that same week, she placed a call to both Tinubu and Oshiomhole to continue working for them, while not officially resigning. Her pleas were rejected and she was given an ultimatum to resign before the governor officially kicks off his campaign. Although she was given an ultimatum, she was promised $200,000 (77.5million naira), and up until today, $150,000 had been wired to her with the promise of the remaining $50,000 when she tenders her resignation letter.

Not knowing how to resign and still keep the official vehicles, she decided to lie about having a miscarriage to garner sympathy while she developed a plan to systematically steal 3 official government vehicles: 2 Hilux vans and one Toyota Avensis, owned by the state government.

Last weekend, she got word about the governor kicking off his campaign tomorrow July 25th and fast tracked her plans. Yesterday Thursday July 24th, she finally moved the vehicles to her home where they were then taken to a secondary location.
