Ibaji 2023: I will raise the bar of political representation, Demonstrate Leadership – NNPP Candidate, Peter Egwudah

A chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, in Kogi State and now House of Assembly candidate from Ibaji State constituency, Hon Peter Micheal Egwudah, has pledged to raise the bar of political representation if given the chance.

Micheal Eqwudah stated this at a one day political debate organized by the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Ibaji chapter for all the Assembly candidates to show casing what they have to offer the electorates on Thursday, and lamented over lack of government present in the area.

Egwudah who is a former president of Ibaji Unity Forum said he is most qualified to represent his people at the floor of the Kogi State House of Assembly in 2023 in view of his credentials and contribution to the development and welfare of his people.

The aspirant noted that peace and development were among others cardinal objectives behind his desire to run for a seat in the Assembly come 2023.

According to him, peace remains the panacea for positive development and emphasize the need for all stakeholders to unite irrespective of religion and tribal consideration in order move the area to the expected promise land.

His words: “I am seeking for a seat in the Kogi State House of Assembly as a representative of our people from Ibaji Constituency to raise the bar of political representation, demonstrate leadership capacity that will surpass our previous and current experience, as well as address the weaknesses of previous and ongoing administrations, and build on their gains to set a prospect for the future.

“I am hoping that my adoption and subsequent election as the candidate to represent the New Nigeria People’s Party in next year’s Kogi State House of Assembly elections will help redress the lopsidedness we have witnessed for so many years.

He also appealed to youths and women to support his aspiration in the interest of equity and fairness, adding that his aim in political was to attract meaningful development through lobby for his people.

“I am a firm believer in building through stable and due consultation among the elite of different groups. I am appealing to you to key into this my vision.”

When asked how will he do all that he mentioned: he said he will involved all the critical stakeholders and traditional rulers from the constituency in order to designed a fashionable design that will lead the area to prosperity.

“I would like to humbly ask you to adopt my aspirations as yours in the interest of our party’s symbol of progressive politics, democracy, equity and fairness,” he added.

He promised to take youths along even as he allocated 20 youth empowerment slot for the Ibaji chapter of the NYCN in the yet to start empowerment.

Global Times Nigeria report that the even had in attendance Executive Chairman of Ibaji LG, Special Adviser on Media & Communication to Kogi State Governor, Vice Chairman of the council, Secretary to Idah LGC, Assembly candidates from various political parties and their supporters.

Others include, Comr. Benjamin Ojodale, former State NYCN Chairmanship aspirant, Director in the Kogi State Revenue house, clergy, youths and women groups.
