While reading through online national newspaper platforms, my attention was drawn to a news report about a purported visit by a group of APC members from Abia state,to the national chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu on Tuesday in Abuja. The report revealed that the delegation of Abia APC members was led by the factional gubernatorial candidate of the party for the 2023 general elections in the state, Ikechi Emenike.

“During the visit by the delegation of Abia APC to the national chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu on Tuesday in Abuja, the leader of the group of APC chieftains from Abia State, Mr Ikechi Emenike said the purpose of the visit was to commend Senator Adamu for the kind of cohesion and peace he brought to Abia APC..

“Emenike stated that the avalanche of cases against the party in the state is due to the party being a threat in the forthcoming election”

As usual, it does not formed as part of my character to respond to staged-managed political events, such as this lastest futile visit by a group of APC members from Abia state who were lured, induced and transported to Abuja, to meet the national chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, hatched by the factional gubernatorial candidate , Ikechi Emenike to curry undue political sympathy from the judiciary, and equally, to endorse illegitimacy, illegality and abuse of basic democratic principles on which the APC was founded.

This comes as a result of fallout and outcome of the concluded parallel gubernatorial primary elections conducted in Abia state on 26th of May 2022 by the leadership of the APC, wherein two governorship candidates emerged for the All Progressives Congress in Abia state.

They’re, the immediate past Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uche Sampson Ogah who was democratically elected as the main candidate of the APC for the March 2023 general elections at a well participated and concluded gubernatorial primaries held in Umuahia, the state capital, and
a former Pro-chancellor and the Chairman, Governing Council of the University of Nigeria Nsukka(UNN), Mr Ikechi Emenike, was picked as its Governorship Candidate in Abia by a faction of the All Progressives Congress chaired by Kingsley Ononogbu who gathered at undisclosed location within umuahia capital city, and held a parallel Governorship primary election. Both candidates are already In court seeking its pronouncement on the rightful winner/gubernatorial candidate among the two party chieftains, laying claims of emerging through approved mode of primary election and electoral guidelines by the leadership of the APC. And the final judgement in the lawsuit filed by Dr Uche Ogah comes up on Friday 11th November 2022 at federal High court in Abuja, presided by Justice Binta Murtala-Nyako.

However, there is no gainsaying the fact that, several lawsuits before the courts of competent jurisdictions, and necessitated by the outcome of the parallel Governorship primary elections conducted by the leadership of APC in Abia state are not meant to stop Mr Ikechi Emenike for being a threat to some political opponents as he want the world to believe him.

The bags of court litigations are meant to restore the lost democratic principles, values and ideologies on which APC leadership had before the concluded primary elections, negated on altar of mere political harmonization of interests of party members. Obviously, the court litigations are meant to restore dignity of the party, restore true internal democracy in APC. It’s equally aimed at restoring sanity, accountability and due process. And summarily, thr court litigations are meant to return APC on its original path of justice, equity fairness, progress, unity and development.

Without fear and sounding contradictory, it must be stated here that Mr Ikechi Emenike had never been a threat to Political opponents in any electioneering contest, instead he had remained a major threat to Abia APC, and also the clogs in the wheel of progress and development of APC in Abia state.

Mr Ikechi Emenike’s boastfulness for saying the several court cases against his purported governorship candidancy was because, his opponents sees him as threat is far from reality. Again, i must also attest to the fact, and concur with widely held and general opinions of watchers of political events in Abia lovers of democracy, and indeed entire Abia people, that Emenike’s several attempt to become Abia governor having contested on the platform of ANPP, PDP and APC has eluded him because he demonstrated lack of basic democratic credentials, the needed capacity, requisite competence and expertise to address the myriads of challenges bedeviling the God’s Own State (Aba).

It is an established facts on the ground that the Tuesday’s staged-managed visit to national chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu by a delegation of members of the APC from Abia-led by factional Abia leader of the party, Ikechi Emenike is hinged on deceit tilted to curry undeserved political sympathy from Nigerian judiciary, just as he had also realized that the judgement has come for all his atrocities against the Abia chapter of All Progressive Congress.

This futile visit by few Abia APC delegation-led by Mr Ikechi Emenike to APC national chairman was politicak a gimmick, hatched to take only photograph with Senator Adamu, and to deceive and lure the judiciary into agreeing that, his purported governorship candidancy under APC enjoys the backing of the national leadership of the party

Undisputably, major party leaders, critical stakeholders, millions of teeming APC supporters across the length and breadths of Abia state have remained committed, firm and resolute on their reaffirmation that only the gubernatorial primary election which produced Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah on the 26th May 2022 is recognized by the leadership of the party and backed by the constitution of the All Progressives Congress. They went ahead to warn the party leadership any attempt to field Mr Ikechi Emenike will spell down to the party. He has lost electoral values. This is a man who failed to secured victory for the APC, even in his ohuhu ward.

I must state it here that Mr Ikechi Emenike pretend to love President Muhammadu Buhari, yet his anti-party activities thwarted the chances of the party from clinching the gubernatorial seat of the state. He never won any of his puling unit for President Buhari.

Guess, God never destined him to win the election because, in the year 2003, he contested for PDP Senatorial ticket, but lost against Dr Chris Adighije. 2007, he contested for the governorship of Abia State and still lost against Senator T.A Orji.

2019 presidential and National Assembly elections held on 23 Feb came with surprises as he was defeated by the opposition parties in his puling unit. He failed to deliver Buhari but wants to be the leader of a party he failed to deliver. But that remains a story for another day, as he still remains suspended from the party”.

I must applaud the courage of the former minister, Dr Uche Ogah for toeing the path of law to halt the illegalities aides and abetted by the past national caretaker executive committee of the party led by Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni.

It would be recalled that Ikechi Emenike never accepted the judgement of the supreme court which ruled in favour of Dr Uche Ogah as the authentic governorship candidate of APC during 2019 elections. He accepted the then ruling of the apex court in human form, but never accepted in heart and spirit, and however went ahead to work against Dr Uche Ogah and the Abia APC.

I challenge Mr Emenike to come forward with real result showing polling units he delivered APC, be it Presidential, Governorship National and State Houses of Assembly

Again, his gangsterism style of politicies and coupled with unpopular gubernatorial bid Emenike has continued to caused many party leaders to exit from the Abia APC. As far as Abia politics is concerned, Mr Ikechi Emenike is a rejected food product, and when allowed in a civilized and modern markets to thrive, it cannot be patronized by consumers due to lacking the basic ingredients. Reiterating, the lawsuit on the puported primary election that was staged-managed, and undemocratically produce Emenike is aimed at restoring. basic democratic principle and ideologies in which the APC was founded.

Majority of Abia population has further attested and affirmed that the Gubernatorial candidancy of Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah under the platform of APC is easy route to economic rejuvenation and Infrastructural resuscitation, massive employment, industrialization, regular payment of salaries and entitlements to pensioners, improved standard of education, affordable healthcare service delivery, youths, men and women empowerment and development and adequate security of lives and properties when elected as next Governor of Abia state come 2023.
