Insurgency: Kogi state Council of Ulama’u urges Nigerians to pray for redemption.

The Council of Ulama’u Kogi state chapter has urged the Muslim Ummah to urgently embark on fervent prayers to God for the redemption of Nigeria from the societal ills that are about consuming the people and the laws governing them.

The special prayers become necessary following several acts of banditry, insurgency, kidnapping, armed robbery, corruption, and other anti-social activities that are threatening the corporate existence of the country.

Chairman, Kogi state Council of Ulama, Sheikh Salman Adam, who is also the Chief Imam of Ankpa, made the call in his welcome address on Sunday during this year’s commemoration of Hijrah held at Muhammadu Buhari square, Lokoja.

While facilitating with the entire Muslim Ummah worldwide, on the occasion of the new Islamic Calendar Year, Hijrah 1444, Sheikh Salman, frowned at the negative tendencies and UnGodly attitudes of Nigerians which have grossly ruined their lives.

” My fellow Muslim brothers and sisters, Hijrah commemoration is -significant in so many respects. First and foremost, it reminds us of the trials, tribulations, oppression, persecution, agony, sufferings, deprivation.” Sheikh Salman stated.

He, therefore, advised them to unite in the fight against the ongoing criminal activities with both their persons and their wealth, to protect their faith as Muslims, and to establish Islam as the only religion in the sight of Allah on the face of the earth.

” Shun evil acts for good acts; we should avoid bad behavior and embrace good behavior; we should avoid greed, selfishness, and indecency (in both utterances, dressings, and behavior); and embrace conducts which are capable of promoting equality of all within the society; respect for the poor, sick, aged, etc; and ensure proper and even distribution of wealth in the society. As Muslims, we should generally, migrate from ~ lawlessness to law-abiding citizens at all times and in all places.” Sheikh Salman further advised.

He commended the efforts of the Kogi State Government under the leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor, for his continuous support to all religious groups in Kogi State and for ensuring that the State is safe and secured at all times and prayed to God to continue to support him in all his programs and political ambitions.
