International Women’s Day: Akase Hails The Enterprising Zeal Of Benue Women
As the world marks the international women day, a top Benue State governorship aspirant on the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP platform, Mr Terver Akase, has extolled the resilience and enterprising zeal of Benue women.
This year’s International Women’s Day (IWD2022), with the theme: “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow.”

Director, Media, Terver Akase Governorship Campaign Organization, affirmed that Benue women rank amongst the most productive women who are making laudable contributions in diverse socio-economic spheres.
Akase says, “I recognize the enterprising spirit of the average Benue woman and I therefore intend to leverage on their enterprising zeal to boost the frontiers of socio-economic advancement.”
He pledges that as part of his women empowerment programmes, he will “establish the Benue Women Investment Fund (BWIF), aimed at empowering at least 75% of the Benue women population to own economic ventures” and expresses hope that the initiative “will ultimately enhance wealth creation at the micro level of the State.”
The 2023 guber hopeful declares that it is in recognition of the economic and political contributions of the women that he has appointed a good number of them on his Governorship Campaign team, acknowledging further that women will always be given equal opportunities in his administration when elected Governor in next year’s general election.
While commending Governor Samuel Ortom and the First Lady, Dr. Mrs. Eunice Ortom for setting the pace on gender parity in governance, he tasks Benue women to continue promoting the ideals and values that will guarantee a sustainable and equal future for the society’s common good, adding that women are central to societal transformation.
