ITF/NECA Trains Sixty Youths in Kogi.

Graduands of the fourth batch of trainees of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) – Nigerian Employers Consultative Association (NECA) Technical Skills Development Project in Kogi State have been urged to put into practice the skills acquired to enhance a purposeful living.

The Director General and Chief Executive of the (ITF) Mr Joseph Ari gave the charge in a message to the graduating ceremony of the fourth batch of trainees of the ITF/NECA Technical Skills Development Project held in Lokoja.

Represented by the Area Manager of the (ITF), Mr Simon Sokoto, the Director General said the idea which was conceived by ITF and NECA has continued to yield positive results.

Mr Ari said graduands consisting of sixty youths were trained in electrical installation and maintenance work, welding and fabrication as well as mechanical craft practice.

He explained that the trainee would compliment the technical skills required for the nation’s industrial growth and economy.

According to him, the ITF is currently working in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment to fast track the achievement of the National Industrial Revolution Plan of the Federal Government and expressed hope for further expansion of skills acquisition centre.

In his welcome address, the Training Manager, Industrial Skills Training Centre, Lokoja Mr Uhuami Abdulwahab said the people trained by the centre are knowledgeable technicians with the capacity to work for people and could as well become an employer of labour.

He said the program was aimed at addressing skills deficit in the Industrial sector of the economy.

The Training Manager maintained the trainees are provided with Uniforms, books, learning materials, lunch and ten thousand monthly stipends to make learning easy.

Mr Abdulwahab thanked the Director General of the (ITF) Mr Joseph Ari as well as his counterpart in (NECA), Mr Adebowale Oyerinde for their commitment and dedication to industrial development of the nation.

Highlights of the event was the presentation of gifts and certificates to youths who performed exceptionally well in their chosen profession.
