Just in: Nasarawa Assembly passes 3 executive bills into first reading
The Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has passed into first reading three executive bills in order to promote education and skills training in the state.
Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker of the House announced he passage of he 3 bills into first reading during the House proceedings today in Lafia.
The Speaker said that the bills, if finally passed into law would promote education and boost skills training across the state.
He said that the three bills passed into first reading are
1, A Bill For a Law to Establish the Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim Vocational and Technology Institute, Lafia and other Matters Connected Therewith,
2. A Bill for A Law to Amend College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia, Nasarawa State Law 2020 and Matters Connected Thereof.
3. A Bill for a Law to Regulate the Establishment and Operation of Private Nursery , Primary, Secondary Schools and Tertiary Institutions in Nasarawa State and Other Matters Connected Therewith.
The Speaker slated 2nd October, 2023 for the second reading of A Bill For a Law to Establish the Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim Vocational and Technology Institute, Lafia and other Matters Connected Therewith
” I will slate 3rd October, 2023 for the second reading of A Bill for A Law to Amend College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia, Nasarawa State Law 2020 and Matters Connected Thereof.
” I will also slate 4th October, 2023 for the second reading of A Bill for a Law to Regulate the Establishment and Operation of Private Nursery, Primary, Secondary Schools and Tertiary Institutions in Nasarawa State and Other Matters Connected Therewith,” he said.
Earlier, Hon Mohammed Adamu Omadefu, the Majority Leader of the House moved motions for the bills to scale first readings.
Hon Luka Iliya Zhekaba, the Minority Leader of the House seconded the motion.
The House unanimously passed the bills into first readings.
