Kogi Assembly election: 2 Women elected, APC wins 22, PDP 2, ADC 1

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won 22 out of the 25 House of Assembly Seats in Kogi State at the just concluded House of Assembly Election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the results of the March 18th House of Assembly election held across the 25 state constituencies.

According to INEC in Kogi state, the All Progressives Congress (APC) won 22 Seats, Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), has 2 seats, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC), won one seat.

The electoral body stated that PDP won in Bassa and Ogori-Magongo State Constituencies while the ADC won in Yagba-West .

The out going 7th Kogi state House of Assembly has the APC, presently occupying all the 25 seats as all the PDP Members cross carpeted to the ruling APC.

Among the newly elected members are two female candidates who were declared winners in the just concluded state Assembly election, as against the outgoing all male dominated Legislature.

Comfort Nwuchola won the Ibaji state Constituency seat while Omotayo Adeleye-Ishaya won that of Ijumu state constituency

Emergence of Nwuchola and Adeleye-Ishaya both candidates of All Progressives Congress (APC) is expected to correct some anomalies arising from non representation of women in the House.
