Ahead of Kogi State Governorship election slated for November 11, 2023, stakeholders and political pundits who are of the governing All Progressives Congress, APC, has predicted a landslide victory for the party’s candidate, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman in view of massive records of achievements recorded by the present administration under the pragmatic leadership of the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
Speaking at a campaign rally organized by the party leaders to garner support for flag bearer, Dr. Salisu Usman Ogbo cautioned the people to be wary of those moving around and planting the seeds of division of ethnic and religion politics, saying such people were the problem the problem the state found itself until Governor Yahaya Bello came and changed the narrative for good.
Dr. Ogbo who is the Director of Research and Planning in the APC Campaign Council, Dr. Salisu Usman Ogbo, explained that APC administration constructed several roads, secured Igala land against banditry, kidnapping and other forms of crimes, education and human capital development among others were reasons why the people must appreciate and ensure the party stay beyond 2023.
Global Times Nigeria revealed that occasion was to round-off of the ward rally held in Ankpa Local Government where thousands of electorate came out in solidarity with their son and Rector in the Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja.
Dr. Ogbo expressed gratitude to God for sending Governor Yahaya Bello to rescued the State from mal-administration held by some successive administrators who served the State for some years.
He described the support and feedback from the people of Ankpa as very impressive, noting that it’s an indication that the party has the goodwill of the people and will record significant success at the poll.
The Ward Rally round-off, which was held on 5th November 2023, saw Ankpa Township Ward electorates including women and youths enthusiastically participated in large numbers to embrace APC’s Consolidation and Continuity mandate.
Addressing the large crowd at the rally, Dr. Ogbo expressed confidence that APC would coast home to victory in the November 11 election, based on its antecedents and with the caliber of men and women in the party.
He added that the rally served as a unifying force for APC’s victory, noting that the turnout across the thirteen (13) wards of the Local Government signaled APC’s readiness for victory.
Dr. Ogbo reassured the electorates that Alhaji Ododo’s administration would bring about uncommon transformation in the local government and the state at large when voted into power, describing him as a leader with a clear-cut vision to better the lives of the people.
Ankpa Township Ward, which was the last in the series of the ward-to-ward rally, has forty-nine (49) polling units and the largest voting strength in Ankpa Local Government.

Various stakeholders present at the ward-to-ward rally included Deputy Majority Leader, House of Representatives, Hon. Abdullahi Halims, Former Deputy Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly representing Ankpa I, Hon. Mohammed Ahmed, immediate Past Deputy Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Rabiu Alfa Isiaka, Ankpa Local Government Chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Abagwu, House of Assembly Member, Ankpa I, Hon. Lawal Akus, Ankpa Township Ward Chairman, Hon. Danladi Negedu, state woman leader, among other critical party stalwarts.
