Kogi: Former guber aspirant, Adebanji, hails Gov. Bello for establishing State University in Okunland.

The establishment of a University for Okun land by the Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has been and described as fulfilment of one of the campaign promises made to the Okun people of the state.

A former governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), in the just concluded primary election, Mr Adebanji David, made the commendation in a letter he personally signed and sent to the Governor on Thursday.

The former governorship aspirant wrote, ” this is yet a fulfillment of another electioneering campaign promises you made during the campaign to the people of Okunland.

“I want to sincerely thank His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State for fulfilling yet, another of the electoral promises, he made during his campaign to the people of Okunland.

“Among the electoral promises was his resolve to establish a University in Okunland. In line with that, recently Governor Yahaya Bello made good on his promise by officially pronouncing the eagerness of the state government to commence the processes of the establishment and its take off

“Having known the governor to be a thoroughbred politician and a leader who matches words with actions, I am very sure that with his wealth of experience, he will build a sustainable and enviable state University that will stand the test of time and will demonstrate the eloquent testimony of his commitment”.

Jimoh in his optimism, noted that on completion, the university will improve on the quality and standard of education that would set Okun land on a global recognition, pointing out that the University. will help more prospective students to acquire knowledge, skills and professional expertise.

The former governorship aspirant expressed joy with the governor’s decision to set up a committee of re-known academia and scholars across the state to determine the University type, name, and location.
