IDRIS AHMED, Lokoja
The All Progressives Congress (APC), in Kogi local government area of Kogi state, has declared its firm control of the area as leaders and members of other political parties have joined the ruling party.

Chairman Kogi State Civil Service Commission, Barrister Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku, who made the declaration on Friday in Lokoja the state capital, explained that the remnants of Social Democratic Party can not affect APC victory.
Barr. Osuku, in an exclusive interview with our Correspondent in Kogi state, stated that the APC in Kogi local government has never been defeated by any political party since 2015.
He explained that though there were misgivings by some leaders and members who felt sidelined in the running of the party, considering the numerous dividends that accrued to the local government, the leadership and stakeholders from the area met and resolved differences.
Barr. Osuku, a former Administrator of the Kogi local government council, assured that with the reunion of the progressives, the area is set for APC to reenact its renown feat.
He said the people of Kogi local government will remain ever grateful to Governor Yahaya Bello, for the numerous achievements and political appointments recorded in the area, adding that traditional rulers were equally upgraded to the admirations of the people.
The former Administrator of the council said that the APC under Governor Yahaya Bello has provided hospital, connected the entire area to the national grid and constructed rural roads in the area which necessitated their support for the APC candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo.
According to him, the Chairman of PDP in the local government area has led other leaders and members of his party into the ruling APC, just as the former Kogi state Chairman of ANPP, Alhaji Angulu Hukuma, has also dumped his party for APC.
While commending Governor Yahaya Bello for the numerous achievements in the area, Barr. Osuku thanked the people for the massive support given to the APC and its candidate Ahmed Usman Ododo, whom they believe will consolidate on the governor’s great leaps.
