Kogi Guber: Group endorses Bello’s CoS, Asuku, to contest election.

As preparation for the Kogi state governorship election commences, aspirants, supporters and groups, have resumed political alignment and realignments across the state.

A, group, ” My Asuku Project (MAP), has endorsed the aspiration of the Chief of Staff to the State Governor, Pharmacist Jamiu Abdulkareem Asuku, to succeed Alhaji Yahaya Bello as the next Chief Executive of the state.

The group in a statement signed by one of its leaders, Mathew Ochada from Omala local government area of Kogi state, said Pharmacist Jamiu Abdulkaream Asuku is a formidable contender for the governorship position in Kogi State.

The statement gave ten reasons that has make the Chief of Staff to the Governor a better option among the several aspirants from the All Progressives Congress in Kogi state.

According to the group, the
track record of successes as the current Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello, Asuku, has been instrumental in driving the government’s development agenda and has overseen the successful execution of several projects in the state in the second tenure of Governor Yahaya Bello.

Listed among the aspirant’s experience is in the pharmaceutical industry, as Asuku has a wealth of experience in the healthcare industry, which would be valuable in managing the healthcare sector in Kogi State.

They also acknowledged entrepreneurial skill of Asuku especially with his experience in the private sector and as an entrepreneur, which made him uniquely qualified to manage the state’s resources and drive economic growth.

” With his known commitment to transparency and accountability, Asuku has consistently demonstrated a commitment to his office in government, which would be critical in building trust between the government and the people.

” Asuku represents the new generation of leaders who are willing and able to drive change in Nigeria. His youthfulness would be an asset in tackling the complex challenges facing Kogi State.” the group stated.

The group explained that Asuku is an excellent communicator, and has shown the ability to engage with people from all walks of life, stressing that his communication skill would be essential in building partnerships and collaborations that would drive development in the state.

“Asuku has a reputation for being an inclusive leader who listens to the concerns of all stakeholders. He would be able to build a diverse team that would bring fresh ideas and perspectives to bear in the state.” the group said.

On education the group canvassed that Asuku is a strong believer in the transformative power of education, and he has championed several initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education in Kogi State.

“Asuku’s experience in government and the private sector has equipped him with the skills needed to work under pressure and make tough decisions when necessary.

The statement recalls that through his foundation, many students were sponsored to tertiary Educational institutions, settled hospital bills of patients in their thousands and empowered several young people of Kogi State.

The group assured that under Asuku’s tenure as the chief of staff, Governor Yahaya Bello has been able to engage directly with the people of the state.

Already about 18 aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have purchased nomination and intent forms at the cost of N50 million naira and N10 million respectively, while about 10 aspirants on the platform of the People Democratic Party have purchased forms, as the timetable for primary election has been scheduled for April this year.
