Kogi LG & Chieftaincy Affairs Commissioner Pays Royal Homage To Attah Igala, Ohinoyi Ebira Land.

The new Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Kogi State, Barr. Salami Ozigi Deedat has appealed to the Traditional rulers and their Councils to give their maximum support to the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello. As being given in his last four (4) years of tenure.

The Commissioner made the appeal while on a one day familiarization tour to two traditional rulers in the State, HRM. Dr. Michael Ameh Oboni, the Attah Igala and President Kogi State Council of Chiefs and HRM. Alhaji Dr. Ado Ibrahim, Ohinoyi of Ebira Land and Vice President Kogi State Council of Chiefs in their palaces at Idah and Okene respectively.

And Elders in council where not left out in receiving their August visitors amidst mammoth crowds and Jubilations especially from the youths and women in the area.

The first point of call was the palace of HRM. Dr. Michael Oboni, the Attah Igala, where the Hon. Commissioner Mr. Abdulsalami Deedat stated that their visit to the traditional rulers symbolizes the existing unity, harmony and peaceful co existence, between the traditional rulers and government in power. Regardless of socio-cultural, ethnic and religious differences.

He stressed that the role of the traditional rulers in the socio-political stability and economic integration can never be neglected, reiterating that the Traditional rulers have contributed tremendously to the success since the coming of this administration led by Governor Yahaya Bello.

Deedat told the Traditional rulers that his visit to their palaces was to renew synergy assured them of the continuation of governance despite minor changes, adding that he has come to consolidate on legacies built over the years by his predecessor.

The Commissioner who commended traditional rulers over their immense contribution to maintenance of peace, law and order in various domains, assured the royal fathers that the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello is on top of the situation as various security strategies are on to curb the growing insecurity challenges in the state.

He also told the two royal fathers that Governor Yahaya Bello is the most security conscious Governor Kogi is lucky to have in view of his relentless fight against security challenges.

While commending them for their fatherly roles and unflinching support to the government of the day, the Commissioner, described their loyalty as historic and a welcome development.

In their vote of thanks, the Administrators of Idah and Okene LGAs Hon. Odoma and Mall. (Engr.) Muhammed Abdulrazaq respectively in their welcome address thanked the commissioner and their colleagues for their visit particularly to the royal fathers and ask them to feel at home.

They equally thanked the royal fathers on behalf of their colleagues for their support to the government of the day in areas of sustainable peace and offering advise and solution to the government.

Speaking earlier, the Administrator of Kogi, Koton-Karfe LG, Hon. (Barr) Muhammed Tanko Musa, in remark, thanked the royal fathers for their hospitality. Adding that the traditional rulers have been supportive, collaborative and strongly behind the successive governments particularly the present administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello. He enjoined them to continue in the same spirit by giving their unflinching support to the current administration of Governor Yahaya Bello. He prayed God in his infinite mercy to guide, protect the royal fathers to continue with their duties successfully.

ALGON Chairman and Administrator of Ijumu LG, Alhaji Isah Taufiq said Kogi Royal Fathers’ contributions, counseling, opinions, views and ideas are mostly needed by the current administration of Gov Yahaya Bello in its determination to fight against insecurity challenges and other social vices .

He also said all the 21 LGAs Administrators were always welcomed and felt at home whenever they met their various Royal fathers. Alhaji Taufiq noted that Governor Yahaya Bello has a great high esteem respect for the traditional institution in the state.

The visit expected to be continue to Kabba and Koton-Karfe in continuation of consultations with Royal fathers. The event was peacefully, orderly and full of blessings from the Royal Fathers.

The tour had in attendance, the Commissioner for LG & Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Abdulsalami Ozigi Deedat, All 21 LGAs Administrators with their Media Aides and supporters.
