Kogi NNPP mobolise farmers for 2023 election.

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has promised to encourage citizens to engage in agriculture for mass food production and development of agro allied industries.

Honourable Stephen Achor Ahiaba, the NNPP House of Assembly candidate for Okura constituency, Dekina, Local government area of Kogi state, declared in an interview with our Correspondent on Thursday in Lokoja.

The hopeful Assembly candidate blamed failures in meeting the agricultural needs,both for consumption and industries on lack of commitment and political will of the government and representatives of the people at the various strata of Legislature.

He promised farmers in his constituency and the entire Dekina Local government area, that modern farming and harvesting implements will be provided .

“Cashew harvesting machines have been developed and will be provided to farmers free of charge if elected. I have local and international partners that are willing to supply such equipments and imputes. Just have confidence in me”. The hopeful Assembly candidate stated.

He equally disclosed that as a member of the Kogi Agric Vision Group, he stands a chance of connecting his constituents to other agricultural organisations, where they can access to essential knowledge and necessary information for the stimulation of their work.

He maintained that agriculture is the only alternative to oil and government should therefore diversify it’s economic policy.

He said if elected, the government will be made to construct Dams, establish farms, fisheries and animal husbandry.

He said the government should train agricultural technicians and information technology so as to provide solutions to the problems associated with food production.

While appealing to the people to vote him and the NNPP, Honourable Stephen Ahiaba, urged the Youth in area to shun thuggery, obey the rules and ensure peaceful conduct of election.
