Kogi: NRM Gov’ship candidate, Drisu canvasses for Kogi Unity Forum before future elections.

Governorship Candidate of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), Mallam Balla Abdulgafar Dirisu has appealed to the people of Kogi state to organise a Unity Forum, where crucial matters affecting the wellbeing of the state can be tabled for deliberation.
Mallam Dirisu who is among the 5 candidates of other political parties that dropped their governorship ambitions in support of the APC candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo, said until the whole state come together politically on a round table, mutual fear of domination and marginalization will persist.
The NRM candidate who was fielding questions in an interview with Journalists, after pulling out of the November Governorship race, said, ” Kogi is like the centre of Nigeria with many ethnic groups and tribes making it difficult and tough for the desired rancour free politicking.”
He therefore suggested a Unity Forum as the only solution that can bring about unity among the ethnic groups and tribes resident in Kogi state to bring about mutual peaceful coexistence.
” For a progressive Kogi state, a sincere Unity Forum should be organised for the future of the state and its generations yet unborn,” the former governorship candidate said.
He however admonished the people of Lokoja not to despair, but remain resolute in their political participations adding that their usual co-operation has made others
He reminded the people of Lokoja that they are in Kogi West, but for long they have not attained governorship or even Senate, therefore urged them to be more determined to try their strength through cooperation with other people across the state.
“It is time for Lokoja to spring up and seek cooperation with others for the purpose of future elections. We should support zoning formula for future elections”. Drisu stated.
