The kogi State wing chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers ‘NUT’ Comrade [Elder] Joel Salifu Oyibo has congratulated the outgoing state chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress ‘NLC’ Comrade Onu Johnson Edoka for lying viable human and infrastructural development that will outlived his era as the number one labour leader in the state.
Comrade (Elder) Joel Salifu Oyibo commendation is coming on the heels of the official inauguration of the multi million Ultra modern ‘Workers house’ erected under the leadership of Comrade Onu Johnson Edoka ,whom eight years reign as Kogi state chairman of the labour movement will come to an end tuesday.
According to the state leader of teachers, Edoka leadership has juxtaposed the welfare of workers and humongous infrastructural development which culminated in the building of a magnificent edifice for workers in the state.
Comrade (Elder) Joel Salifu Oyibo asserted that history will be so kind to Comrade Onu Johnson Edoka as he will certainly be remembered for his gargantuan and watershed achievements for workers and the labour movement in Kogi state.
His words: the Ultra modern workers house situated in Lokoja kogi State capital is watershed in the anal of union movement in Kogi state, Edoka had indeed recorded his name in the guinue book of record” Oyibo asserted
The kogi State chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers also congratulated the new state chairman of the Nigerian labour Congress over his emergence saying the rare confidence reposed on him by the delegates to the eightieth quadrennial state conference is a call for greater responsibility and to deliver quality service to workers.
Comrade (Elder) Joel Salifu Oyibo urged the newest NLC chairman and his team to deploy due diligence , hard work, dedication, humility, and commitment to duty to meet the ever escalating aspirations and expectation of the state workers especially in the angle of welfare package
He asked the new leadership of the union to tow the part of his predecessors so as to consolidate on the immeasurable feats of Comrade Onu Johnson Edoka led leadership of the labour movement in the state.
Comrade Joel Salifu Oyibo promised to collaborate with the state chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, to protect and defend the interest of workers and urged workers to mobilize support and corporate with the leadership of the state council for the accomplishment of the set goals.
