Kogi NUT chairman promises more robust packages for union members.
Kogi State Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, Comrade Joel Salifu has promised to continue to initiate projects that will add value to the union.
Comrade Salifu gave the assurance while receiving in his office, members of the Ofu Progressive Teachers’ Forum who came to present gift to him in recognition of his achievements within one year in office
He expressed appreciation to the group for recognizing his contributions to the growth of the union and promised to be committed towards the emancipation of teachers from their present predicament.
The union leader said he is ready to partner with relevant institutions to bring development to teachers noting that the union is currently working on the renovation of Teachers’ House as well as the ongoing project in Yagba West.

Earlier, the Chairman of Ofu Progressive Teachers’ Forum, Comrade Labaran Ahmed said the members of his group were impressed by the performance of the Union leader which prompted them to celebrate him.
According to him, teachers in the state had received a boost in their renumeration due to good relationship between the state government and the union.
He however appealed to the Federal Government and the members of the Academic Staff Union of the Universities (ASUU) to find a common ground for reconcilation in the interest of both the parents and students who are currently at home.
Present at the occasion were members of both national and the state executives.
