Kogi Police Command Reacts To Kabba Explosion In Kogi

Following the recent explosion in Kabba, Kogi State Police Command said it has received a report of an explosion suspected to be a Gas related Explosion at a drinking joint, Labi beer parlour at Lewu junction, Kabba.

A press statement from the command headquarters issued by its spokesperson, SP, William Ovye Aya, Police Public Relations Officer, said the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Edward Egbuka has immediately deployed teams of personnel from Police Mobile Force, Quick Response Unit as well as conventional Officers to the scene along with the Military personnel to control access and evacuated the victims to Hospital.

According to Aya, Normalcy has been restored in the area and people return to their businesses.

He said one Aisha and others affected by the explosion have equally been evacuated to the hospital, however, said she later died. While others are receiving treatment.

The statement further said the Commissioner of Police directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police to commence an investigation into the incident along with the personnel of the Explosives Ordinance Department (EOD) to unravel the cause of the explosion.

The Commissioner of Police urges members of the public to go about their lawful businesses while reiterating the Command’s level of commitment in synergy with other security agencies in ensuring the safety of lives and property.
