Kogi Poly Rector warns Lecturers against selling books, and handouts to Students.

Worried about the corruption in academic departments, the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, has warned lecturers selling textbooks and handouts to students of the institution to desist or risk disciplinary action.
Dr. Usman gave the warning on Wednesday when Women in Leadership positions in Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja honoured him for his outstanding achievements since assuming leadership of the institution in the last year
He noted that selling handouts and textbooks to students is not acceptable in the institution stressing that any lecturers caught would be sanctioned.

The Rector noted that lecturers in other Kogi state-owned instructions never sold handouts and textbooks to their students and wondered why some of the lecturers in Kogi State Polytechnic are trying to make things difficult for the students.

He promised that his administration will do everything possible to make the institution one of the best in the country, despite the meager resources
Earlier, Women in Leadership positions of the institution have taken turns to highlight the achievement of Kogi State Polytechnic under Dr. Usman and pledged their continuous support for the success of the Polytechnic.
The Women who described Dr. Ogbo as a gender-friendly and detribalized leader presented him with a “Gender-sensitive leadership award and prayed that his tenure will continue to yield fruits for the people of Kogi State and Nigeria in general.
The Dean, School of General Studies Mrs. Balagbogbo, while appreciating the Rector for his exemplary leadership said Dr. Usman is a firm believer in gender equality like Governor Yahaya Bello.
According to her, under the current leadership, there has been massive infrastructural development as he remains a Man of good conduct and a peace builder in the Polytechnic.
She further described Dr. Ogbo Usman as a quintessential leader adding that it is on record that under the Reactor’s mentorship, Women have been given a sense of belonging throughout the history of the Polytechnic.
On her part, the Director Academic planning unit Mrs. Ruth Haruna said Women in the Polytechnic will continue to appreciate the ICT-driven Rector, who in the history of the institution has changed the face of the Polytechnic into an enviable sight.
According to her, “we are not here to protest, but to applaud the Rector’s remarkable achievements, Dr. Ogbo Usman is a man of discipline.”
The Polytechnic Librarian Mrs. Omolola Audu while acknowledging the contribution of the leadership of the Polytechnic thanked Dr. Ogbo for identifying with Women.
” We thank God for this adage that says when you train a woman you train a nation. We have never had things good in the Polytechnic since I came to Kogi Polytechnic in 2000. Dr. Salisu Ogbo changed everything for us. God will never forsake you sir for your contributions to humanity”
In his acceptance speech, the Rector Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Usman Ogbo described the day as historic adding that, this will spur him to do more for the institution.
He appreciated the role of his Mother in the feat he has achieved so far, noting that, Women remain the bedrock of any nation.
