Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has embarked on inspection of projects executed by his administration preparatory to commissioning them.
The inspection which started in Lokoja metropolis on Thursday, covered the civic center, named Muhammad Buhari Square, GYB model Science Secondary School, Adankolo, the first flyover bridge at Ganaja junction and the renovation of the Specialist Hospital and the newly constructed Administrative block.
Addressing Journalists after the inspection of the completed and ongoing projects, Alhaji Yahaya Bello expressed satisfaction over all the projects executed in Lokoja metropolis and across the state.
The Governor explained that in October last year, when on inspection of the construction of the Administrative block at the Specialist Hospital, he interviewed the contractor handling the project and expressed dissatisfaction over the quality of job that was being executed.
”Today, I have come back to inspect the same job again here at Kogi State Specialist Hospital, and I am highly satisfied with the quality of work done.
”GYB (Gov Yahya Bello) stands for standard and quality, and you can only use quality and standard to describe GYB,” he said.
The governor commended the local contractor, Alhaji Friday Idachaba who eventually handled the project to a successful and satisfactory completion, saying he has done credibly well.
He thanked the contractor, who is an indigene of Kogi State, for executing a very good job to his standard at a far cheaper rate.
The highly elated Governor, noted with satisfaction that today the state has a remodeled Specialist Hospital, manned by a competent Chief Medical Director, Prof. Momoh Adagiri Yahaya and his team in the hospital.
”The Chief Medical Director is doing very well and all his patients, as well as the doctors, nurses and other workers are expressing their satisfaction in terms of job, remuneration and incentive,” Bello said.
The Governor maintained that he inspected all the projects to ensure that they are of quality with admirable taste as President Muhammadu Buhari, and the APC Presidential flag bearer, Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu and other leaders will be invited for commissioning.
