Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Engineer Clement Ohida has felicitated with Pensioners on the occasion of Christmas and New year celebration.
Engineer Ohida in a statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja described the birth of Christ as a benevolent act of God towards the world and entire human race.
He explained that through the birth of Christ, salvation is made available to sinners who through grace can find his way back to God.
The union leader urged christians to celebrate in love by sharing to the needy and the less privileged as exemplified by Christ.
He also wished Governor Yahaya Bello and the people of the state a happy New Year and prayed for better days ahead.
Engineer Ohida assured that the union would continue champion the interest of the members and called for improved salary structure for local government workers.
