The leadership and entire members of Kogi United Elitist Forum, has felicitated with Gov. Yahaya Bello on his Inauguration, as the Fifth executive governor of the state.
The group in a statement signed and made available to MIDDLE REPORTERS by the promoter, Engr. Salam Omeiza, the Group heartily congratulate Gov. Bello on his re election victory, stating that, this good work made his re-election an easy winning with a wide and unimaginable margin, describing it as the will and collective decision of the good people of Kogi who appreciate good work.
The group urge the governor to use his second term to basically focus on beaconing the hope and confidence Bequeathed on him, by Kogi electorates.
” As you are sworn in, we wishe to appeal to you to be ‘a beacon of hope’- focus on hope for the future of Kogi citizens and bridging the partisan divide. We call on you to bridge the state’s political fault lines, and endeavour not to govern by retribution and dare to transcend divisiveness. As elected official and number one citizen of the state, your obligation and allegiance are to the people of this beloved state, not any political leader or party”
The group further called on the Governor to look inward in selecting people with proven integrity,and competency, as Kogi has in abundance people with outstanding intellectual capacity and sagacity to change the narratives which was a result of the previous administration misrule.
According to the group, Kogi among other state harbours splendiferous natural resources which could be judiciously made use of to transform Kogi, also urging the Governor to make all sectors of his government a priority, namely Health, Education and foremost the welfare of workers in the state.
“As you resume to work, we urge you in all your appointments to choose competence with integrity, hope over hopelessness, empathy over apathy, action over passivity. We ask you to take the future of our commonwealth into your own hands and help lead the state forward by redoubling your efforts to boost the economy, improve education, make health care affordable, lowering tuiton costs, expanding renewable energy as Kogi State is blessed with sun in abundance and coal, turn the Confluence state into tourist centre and promote inclusiveness”
“Your Excellency, you signalled some of your second-term policy priorities recently, when you made case for the civil servants and hinted that civil servants would be the cornerstone and fulcrum upon which your second term in office would run than the political appointees. Let your words be your bound, sir.
