The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) 2023 Kogi West Senatorial District candidate, Hon. Muhammed Ibukun Abubakar, (Bukky), has promised adequate representation if elected to represent the good people of the area in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Hon. Muhammed Ibukun Abubakar made the statement while addressing members of the press after Id el Kabir prayer at his residence, GRA, Lokoja the state capital.
He said he is in the contest to provide purposeful leadership with direction aimed at improving the condition of people in the constituency as the people are yearning for positive change and a radical departure from the present and past representations and promised to be alive to his duty if elected by the good people of the constituency.
He emphasized the need for the people of Kogi West Senatorial District, Kogites, and Nigerians to embrace and vote in the NNPP as the party to salvage the country from the present predicament and correct the current ills of insecurity, nepotism, maladministration, and other social evils bedeviling or pulling down the country and hindering peace, progress, and development of our dear country, he urged the leadership of the country under President Muhammadu Buhari to rise to the occasion and take his oath of office seriously which is to protect, defend the country territorial boundary as the country is presently facing the problems of banditry, kidnapping, and other crimes.
It could be recalled that Mr. President’s advance convoy team was attacked some days ago while one of the country’s correctional service facilities was also attacked and in all of these, no arrest was made despite a claim by a militia group called Islam State of West Africa Province, ISWAP.
According to Hon. Muhammad, the country is living in perpetual fear as no one knows the next target of the group.
He assured the good people of Kogi West Senatorial District that, when the party (NNPP) comes to power, some of the present issues of insecurity threatening the unity and corporate existence of the country will be a thing of the past.
He equally advised the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) not to be intimidated by the present people in power, but to strive to defend the independence of the institution by ensuring the votes of Nigerians are protected and get counted.
He equally called on all the eligible voters from Kogi West Senatorial District and across the country to come out en mass and vote for all candidates of the New Nigeria People Party ( NNPP) for the desired peace, progress, and development of the country.
On the issues of power rotation between the good people of Yagba, Kabba Bunu/Ijumu, and Lokoja/ Koto federal constituency, he said, the people of Yagba, Kabba Bunu/ Ijumu federal constituency have had 16 years of uninterrupted representation in the senate and the spirit of equity, justice, and fairness, it will be logical for the people of Lokoja/ Koto federal constituency to produce the 2023 senator.
