The lawmaker representing Koton-Karfe constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly Hon. Muhammed Abubakar Tanko Okofi has congratulated Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello on his victory at the appeal court sitting in Abuja, describing the verdict as well-deserved.
The appeal verdict, in its ruling on Saturday, dismissed the petition by the candidate of the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engineer, Musa Wada, Social Democratic Party, (SDP) Mrs Natasha Hadiza Akpoti and two others challenging the Governor’s victory in the November 16 Governorship election in the State.
In a statement by his Media Aide, Mallam Jibril Mohammed quoted the lawmaker as saying, “I heartily congratulate Governor Yahaya Bello on his well-deserved victory at the appellate court which is a resounding affirmation of the choice of Kogites on November 16, for a second term for the Governor.”
Hon. Tanko Okofi, hail the courage of the court in upholding the mandate given by hundreds of Kogites, saying, “It is obvious that we have reached this level and I am of optimism that this outcome would enhance this administration’s resolve to do more for the good people of the State as it is always known for.”
“On behalf of my constituency, I once again, congratulate the Governor, his Deputy and our great party the All Progressives Congress (APC), on this landmark victory. Tanko stated.
