The son of former Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Shuaib Abubakar Audu has been described as a detribalise, focus and determine future leader who have taken over from his late father Prince Abubakar Audu (late).
He received the commendations when he lead his foundation to the palace of Ohinoyi of Ebira Land, HRM. Alhaji Dr. Ado Ibrahim on a one day working visit to commission some projects in the area.
In a remark, the coordinator of the Shuaib Abubakar Audu Foundation (SAAF) Prince. Idoko Ogacheko, said they are in the Palace of Ohinoyi of Ebira Land with their founder and Grand patron of the foundation, Alhaji Shuaib Abubakar Audu to seek for royal blessing before going to perform what brought them to the ancient town Okene LG in Central Senatorial District of the State.
Ogacheko also said ” We are glad to be here with our founder, our Grand patron and the financier of the foundation the son of former Governor of Kogi State “Prince Abubakar Audu”, Alhaji Shuaib Abubakar Audu, a Managing Director with IBTC bank in Lagos.
“He was at home some time ago and saw the way women are suffering from problem of water supply and he went back to Lagos, which he decided to have a foundation that what is happening to his immediate community is not limited to his community alone, that is all over, he directed us to embark on a research of a particular community in each of the LGAs of the State. So that he can provide them with a Motorized boreholes”.
“On our part as a foundation we discover that Negazi community in Adavi LGA are having challenge of water supply. We told him immediately and he sent in his Engineers to the place and drilled a Motorized borehole and today we are here to thank you and Ebira people for giving us the opportunity to attract this very gift to our people here”. We are also here to pay you homage so that we can proceed to venue of the event.
On his part, the astute Banker, Grand patron of the foundation and son of the former Governor of the State, Alhaji Shuaib Abubakar Audu, said the Ohinoyi of Ebira land, HRM. Alhaji Dr. Ado Ibrahim was a very good friend of his father, thanked him for giving him the opportunity and great privilege to be in his Kingdom to touch some people lives in his own capacity.
He said the purpose of his visit to Okene in Central Senatorial District of the State is that, he has drilled a borehole for the people of Negazi community in Adavi LG after he received a complaints that women travel far to get water and cholera outbreak convince him to provide portable drinking water for the residents of that particular community.
According him, things were very difficult for them and God has giving him an opportunity to where he is today as an Executive Director in a financial institution.
“I have decided to give back to the society and for my late father to attained the level of his career and aspiration before his demised. I didn’t want to do it with Igalas alone so I decided to spread it across the State”.
“My aim is to provide boreholes for women, children both young and old and people of different tribal group can benefits from the water projects”.
He also said that he is in the Palace of Ado Ibrahim to seek for royal blessing before going to commission the boreholes and as well get the monarch satisfaction. He stated.
Earlier, the paramount ruler of Ebira land, HRM. Dr. Abdulrahman Ado Ibrahim, said it is a glorious day for him to received his son in his palace, saying the former governor, Prince Abubakar Audu (late) was his brother and a very close friend.
He described Shuaib Abubakar Audu as a generous philanthropist who have step into the shoe of his late father. The monarch told him to see his palace as his home because his late father was always here when he was alive.
According to him, he is very happy that late Audu legacies will not only be protected, sustain but rather improve with the way Shuaib has started.
The monarch blessed him and pray God to grant him heart desired.
At Kabba Bunu, the foundation was at the palace of Obaro of Kabba to seek for royal blessing of the paramount ruler. HRM. Oba Solomon Dele Awoniyi, thanked the son of former for considering his people in his developmental agenda, adding that what he is doing today was a replication of his late father’s good deeds which made him the best among the State had produced so far.
While in Kabba Bunu, Alhaji Shuaib Abubakar Audu express gratitude to God for giving him the opportunity to add value to people of Odolu Kingdom. He said this was the beginning of many things to come their way.
Highlights of event, cultural displays by Ebira women and Kabba peopl, commissioning of Multi-Million naira projects in both western and central region of the State. Visit to Ohi of Adavi and Olu of Odolu kingdom, HRH. Alhaji Muhammed Ireyi Bello and Chief of Odolu kingdom.
He also received some awards and honoured from the youths and community leaders as a signed of appreciations.
