Maikaya Urges Egbira Youths To Uphold, Maintain Culture.

Egbira Youths in Nigeria have been advised to maintain and sustain the cultural heritage of their forefathers so as to prove the age long civilisation of their people.

The President, Toto Development Association(TODA) and Chief Executive Officer Maikaya Development Foundation, Alhaji Musa Muhammad Maikaya (Ciroman) gave the advise on Tuesday at the launching of an Egbira cultural music album tittled, ‘ Ezee Me zee’ held in Toto.

Alhaji Maikaya, who was governorship aspirant in Nasarawa state explained that culture has been the unifying force that binds the people together.

He said that as united people, the Egbira were able to establish their own system of leadership and administration which has been sustained by successive generations and maintained to date.

Maikaya urged the Youths to carry on with the legacies bequeathed to them by the forefathers who laid the foundation for the Egbira civilization in agriculture, fishing, trading, good neighborhood, security, family, and social life.

“The Egbira established leadership and administration in all tows and villages, hence the Royal offices of Ohimegyes and the Ohinoyis all over, with other arms of government including the local army, police, and judiciary”. Maikaya recalled

On the new music album, Alhaji Maikaya commended the mission, ingenuity, and talent of the musician Mrs. Amina Asabe popularly known as Iganuma for waxing such a philosophical and artistry peace that is thought-provoking and educative.

He, therefore, called on other Ebgbira youths in the country to take a cue from the artist to improve and modernize the colder to meet with the present developments.

He warned them against abandoning their culture and traditions for the foreign and other alien ways of life which have often eroded and bastardized many African ways of doing things.

” To encourage the musical icon and for the great things she has done over the years promoting the cultural heritage of our land, I want to launch this particular album on behalf Toto traditional council of chiefs with sum of 251,000 naira only.”

The occasion was well attended by hundreds of people from all walks of life and millions of naira were realized during the launch of the music album.
