“Always Maintain the Family Alter ” Reverend Olokun charges newly wedded couples.
Reverend of the sixth ECWA church, Egbe Reverend Olokun stated this in a sermon preceding the holy solemnization of Rebecca Oluwapelumi Ayobami and Michael Olamide Oluwashinaayomi held at second ECWA church Odo Egbe in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Reverend Olokun who picked his topic from the Act of Apostles Chapter eight verse twenty six said, marital journey is a unique one in which certificate is presented to beginners who had lived a separate life until their union.
He explained that marriage should never be conducted on the basis of frivolities including; certificate for traveling requirements, inheritance, peer pressure, family pressure, tribe, wedding gown and competition.
Reverend Olokun urged the couples to remain in love and as well learn the principles of forgiveness emphasizing that mutual love and respect would enhance a happy home.
He urged them to always maintain the family alter and help each other saying the marriage of the lamb is a perfect one in which saints will be with God on the last day.
In a remark, the father of the bride, Chief Anthony Ologun thanked family and friends for coming to the occasion and prayed God blessed the union with peace and love.
Similarly, the mother of the bride, Mrs Ologun advised the newly wedded couples to always exhibit the spirit of tolerance, forgiveness, mutual respect and avoid third party in their relationship.
