Ministerial Appointment: Kogi APC Chieftain OTAN rejoice with Audu, tasks him to Priorities Ajaokuta Steel Company
A renowned All Progressives Congress, APC, Chieftain in Kogi State, Honourable Jimoh Otori OTAN has congratulated the new Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu.
OTAN in a statement on Saturday commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for their foresight leading to his nomination and subsequent deployment to Man the Federal Ministry of Steel Development, describing such gesture as historic and balance political equation in the State.
He charge Prince Audu to see his appointment as sorely to serve humanity and as well ensure the long overdue Ajaokuta Steel company is revive even as he said will create jobs not only Kogi citizens but rather Nigerians.
His words: “I congratulate you on your appointment as Honourable Minister of Steel. Indeed, your recommendation by his Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello and subsequent appointment by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Federal Republic of Nigeria were all in recognition of your diligence and unalloyed commitment to our great party. Your appointment is further testament to the age-old aphorism that loyalty pays. Indeed your loyalty to the All Progressives Congress both in the state and nationally has finally paid off.
“You must however see your appointment as a call to serve humanity. Yours must mark a paradigm departure from the common practice where public office is seen as an avenue for personal aggrandisement and crude accumulation of wealth. On this note, you must prioritise the people’s welfare. You must use your position and office to better their lots. You must not be carried away by the perks and appurtenances of your office.”
“Dear Honourable Minister, this is about the first time an indigen of Kogi State is being saddled with the Ministry of Steel. Asiwaju, with your appointment, has put a proverbial round peg in a round hole. Your portfolio is therefore a well thought out one that will help drive the nation’s quest for industrialisation. Under your watch, Ajaokuta Steel Company must be revived. You must work round the clock with the relevant stakeholders to ensure the completion of the multi billion dollars Ajaokuta Steel Company.
