The leading PDP senate candidate of Edo Central Senatorial District, Arch.(Dr) Mike Onolememen CON, has felicitated with mothers for their positive impacts towards mankind. He said the women represents the totem poles that holds the society and family together, so they must be appreciated.
The former Minister of Works who said this in commemoration of Mother’s Day, said that mothers are very critical stakeholders in nation-building because it is their dedication and sacrifices that makes the family stand.
Addressing press men after service today in Abuja, he said, “I am very happy that I am joining millions around the country to commemorate this year’s Mother’s Day. We must appreciate mothers everywhere in the world because its their sacrifices and dedication that builds the family as a unit, and then build the society we desire. Mothers are the first contact from where we learn morals and good conducts. They do this by raising children the way the society will accept them. So their roles are very important in nation-building.
Onolememen said as he goes to the Senate, his focus will be on how to sponsor some bills that would have direct impact on the welfare of mothers. He added that to build the expected society, the sacrificial roles of mothers must not be neglected. He said there ought to be welfare packages and other incentives to encourage mothers so that their innate potential to build a better and inclusive society can be harnessed.
“Even in politics,” the Adolor of Uromi Kingdom noted, “mothers constitute a large chunk of my supporters, so it will only be wise for me to factor them into my programs so that they can continue to play their critical roles without being stressed too much.”
