Very many people have time after time wondered how and why I’ve devout so much time and energy to the Chairmanship Ambition of His Excellency Distinguished Senator Umaru Tanko Al-makura ahead of the All Progressives Congress, APC’s National Convention scheduled to hold this weekend.

For the avoidance of doubt, the All Progressives Congress is a merger of three major opposition Political Parties consisting of the defunct Congress For Progressives Change, Action Congress Of Nigeria and the All Nigerian People’s Party. These parties all joined the merger with a retinue of Governors save the Congress For Progressives Change which only basked in the pride of its 2011 Presidential Candidate in person of President Muhammadu Buhari and just one Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-makura of Nasarawa State.

Being a pioneer Member and Kogi State Youth Leader of the Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) through which I emerged as the Chairman of the CPC State Youth Leaders’ Caucus, I have known Senator Al-makura as far back as 2010 before he became the Governor of Nasarawa State. From his private life, party Youth Leader and Secretary, days as Governor and current sway at the National Assembly, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-makura is one Nigerian who has shown capacity and the much needed experience to manage the affairs of the party in a view to consolidate on the gains it has been recording since it took over government at the Center.

Away from capacity, humanness is a virtue which its importance cannot be overemphasized in any area of life and my recent ordeal in the aftermath of the APC Congresses during which I was almost assassinated revealed the true nature of Al-makura.

Like water meeting thirst, the show of Love, Solidarity and Compassion I received from Senator Umaru Tanko Al-makura was heartwarming. He wasn’t just concerned, he was worried; he wasn’t just compassionate, he was devastated; he wasn’t just zealous about my state of being, he was anxious of my safety and that was when our hearts metched together. I do not wish for myself an ally better than a busy man who keeps calling in time after time to check on me, puts aside businesses to say Hello over and over, visits in continuum and unsolicitedly turned himself into a manual reminder for medication. These virtues melts my heart and it is the best characteristics required of a party helms man.

As it stands today, the two characters of the defunct Congress For Progressives Change is President Muhammadu Buhari and Distinguished Senator Umaru Tanko Al-makura. Hence, there is a moral burden on the All Progressives Congress to naturally concede its Chairmanship position to the later so that the defunct CPC can live on in APC come 2023 when President Muhammadu Buhari leaves office as President.

Suffice to say, with my sympathy for my defunct CPC and the affection I’ve received in my trying time; my Path With Al-makura And Thrust Of Loyalty is just a case of water meeting thirst.
