Nasarawa Assembly Advocates Welfare For Women, Orphans, other As 2022 Budget Defence Begin

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has advocated more welfare for women, orphans, and other vulnerable groups in the state in the 2022 budget.

This, according to the House, will improve on their general welfare for the betterment of society.

Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs, Hon. Samuel Tsebe (APC Akwanga South ) made the advocacy at the commencement of the 2022 budget defense of the State Ministry for Women Affairs at the Assembly Complex in Lafia today.

Hon. Tsebe, who emphasized that women, orphans, and other vulnerable groups in the society need to be carried fully along to give them an absolute sense of belonging, hence the need for government to do more in improving their welfare.

He noted that the House is committed to supporting and enhancing the general welfare of those under the ministry and also to improve the ministry’s general performance.

The committee and management team of the ministry discussed general areas of concern in the ministry’s 2022 budget.

The Permanent Secretary of the ministry Hajiya Hauwa Aliyu Ogah, defended the ministry’s 2022 budget before the committee thanked the House for its support so far and called for its sustenance.
