The Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Health, has assured the state government of the House continued collaboration in order to improve on the health status of the people of the state.
Hon Usman Labaran Shafa, the Chairman of the committee gave the assurance when the management of the state ministry of Health and Primary Health Care Development Agency ( NSPHCDA) appeared before the committee to defend their 2021 budget proposal.
Labaran Shafa said that the importance of health to human and societal development could not be overemphasised, hence the need of the House continued support to the government in that direction.
” We will continue to support you to succeed in the interest of the health of our people and for the overall development of the state and the country at large.
” As it has been said that a healthy nation is a wealthy nation, ” he said.
He has commended the management of the state ministry of health and that of NSPHCDA for living up to their expectations and called for its sustenance.
Earlier, Pharm.Ahmed Baba Yahaya, Dr Mohammed Usman Addis, the Commissioner for Health, Executive Chairman, NSPHCDA appreciated the committee for supporting their activities.
They have appealed to the committee not to relent in supporting their activities, saying that Gov. Abdullahi Sule has prioritised the health sector considering its importance.
