Nasarawa Assembly assures health agencies of support for quality healthcare services.

Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Health has pledged to give more support to health agencies in the state to overcome emerging challenges especially on accommodation, training, renovation of hospital structures, and quality services.

Chairman, House Committee on Health, Hon. Usman Labaran Shafa gave the assurance when the management of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH), Lafia, Hospital Management Board, Nasarawa State Heathe lth Insurance Agency (NASHIA), and Nasarawa State Aids Control Agency (NASACA) appeared before the committee for their 2022 budget defense, today at the assembly complex.

He said that giving all the needed support to the health agencies defense Tate would not only ensure quality and effective healthcare service delivery but will also improve the health status of the people of the state.

” We will continue to support you to succeed considering the importance of health to human and societal development,” he said.

Labaran Shafa commended the health agencies in their effort to provide efficient and effective health care service delivery to the people of the state.

The chairman has promised to do all within the legislative powers to support in sustaining the successes recorded so far.

The lawmaker has commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for giving adequate attention to the health sector and called for its sustenance.

Speaking separately, Chief Medical Director, DASH, Dr. Hassan Ikrama, Chief Medical Director, Hospital Management Board, Dr. Egba Edego, Executive Secretary, Nasar.awa State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Gaza Gwamna, and Executive Secure. try Nasarawa State Aids Control Agency, Dr. Ruth Babe Bello said some of the items in the budget were not properly captured to address their critical needs.

 

They appealed to the committee to assist them in ensuring budget releases as well as funding for effective service delivery.
