Muslim Ummah in Nasarawa State House of Assembly on Monday commenced this year’s Ramadan Tafsir.
No doubt, one exercise that dominates Ramadan, the fasting month of Muslim Community is Quranic recitation and commentary known as Tafsir.
Staff and management of the state assembly are not exempted from this practice.
At the opening session of this year’s tafsir, an Islamic cleric Mallam Mohammed Mohammed Sarki reminded Muslims that death is definite and judgment is sacrosanct thus, admonishing believers to live their lives according to the dictates of Islamic teachings to obtain God’s mercy in the hereafter.
The cleric added that repercussion awaits those who perpetrate evil while alive, urging Muslim to strive for justice, fairness and love in all their deeds as according to him, that is the way of obtaining God’s mercy even on earth.
Mallam Mohammed Mohammed Sarki said the month of Ramadan which is the holiest in the Islamic calendar calls for penance, calling on Muslim ummah to reconcile themselves with their creator, not forgetting the pillars of the season which focus on arms giving, prayer and fasting.
Speaking on the yearly event, Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi represented by Staff Officer, Sulieman Danladi Gyabo said the Quranic recitation and commentary is a deliberate plans to keep
the Muslim Community of the state assembly abreast with Islamic teachings during the month of Ramadan.
He enjoined believers to adhere strictly to the Islamic tenets of Ramadan to gain its full rewards.
