” We will continue to do our best in ensuring the improved standard of education
” We are urging the state government to take over the salary of the staff of the university,” he said
The committee chairman has assured of effective collaboration with the state government to address the challenges facing the institution
Earlier, Prof. Suleiman Bala Mohammed, the Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi thanked the committee for giving the institution desirable attention to succeed
The Vice-Chancellor said that the institution’s revenue performance in the last six months was underperformance largely due to the National Industrial Action embarked upon by the university unions.
” Personnel cost performance is also not positive due to paucity of funds for the university’s management to augment for the payment of salary.
” The University provides about 57.44 % for the augmentation of salaries monthly.
” Our recommendations are as follows- The State Government should take over the payment of staff salaries as a lasting solution to the university’s financial challenge.
” The Education Committee should intervene in the industrial crises brewing on campus which are suppressed by the national strike,” he said.
The Vice-Chancellor said that the university is owing its staff two months’ salary in June and July 2022.
He has also appreciated Gov. Abdullahi Sule for his efforts in developing the education sector and called for its sustenance.

” They are not here today without apology.
