Nasarawa election: Deputy Speaker lost out as INEC Presents Certificate of Return to Larry Bawa
Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has issued certificate of return to Larry Ven Bawa to represent Akwanga North following Supreme court ruling authenticating his candidature of All Progressives Congress, APC.
According to the electoral empire, the certificate earlier issued to the Deputy Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nehemiah Tsentse Dandaura stands invalid.
Recalled that on the 29th of March this year, the Independent National Electoral Commission issued certificate of return to the Deputy Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nehemiah Tsentse Dandaura as winner of Akwanga North Constituency at the just concluded polls and shortly thereafter, the supreme court ruling authenticated the candidature of Larry Ven Bawa for the position against the Deputy Speaker.
Consequently, the electoral empire obey the court ruling, thus issuing certificate of return to Larry Ven Bawa of All Progressives Congress APC as the one earlier issued to Nehemiah Tsentse Dandaura stands invalid as confirmed by the Head of Election and Political Party Monitoring, Shamsudeen Oyeyemi.
To the winner, Hon Larry Van Bawa the Supreme Court ruling has vindicated him that indeed he is the rightful candidate of the rulling All Progressives Congress APC, promising to engage the faction of the Deputy Speaker to work for the interest of the party.
The Supreme Court ruling has put to an end pre- election crises that engulfed Akwanga North Constituency as said by the chairman of the rulling All Progressives Congress APC in the State, Dr John Mamman.
