Nasarawa government set to partner FG on Education Transformation

Nasarawa state government has reiterated its position to strengthen partnership with federal government in providing enabling environment to facilitate learning process in all strata.

Governor Abdullahi A. Sule stressed the need during a symbolic hand over of feeding utensils to beneficiaries of the national home grown school feeding program at Ta’al modern primary school lafia.

The governor was represented at the occasion by Hon Murtala Lamus, Special Adviser to the governor on Special duties.

Available figures from the national social investment programme indicates that over 9million pupils from primary schools across the nation have benefited from national home grown school feeding program with 194,649 pupils in 745 schools across local government areas in Nasarawa state.

To further improve the programme, governor Abdullahi Sule, while revealing plan to transform education sector in the state, commended the resilience of the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs disaster management and social development in championing the feeding program across the country.

The governor was emphatic that the feeding program will be improved upon warning vendors against compromising set standard.

In her submission, the minister of Humanitarian Affairs disaster management and social development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouk represented by the deputy director audit of the national investment programme Ishaku Longe, noted that the intervention is to encourage school enrollment in the country, reiterating that the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs is fully in tune with president Muhammadu Buhari’s commitment towards lifting one hundred million Nigerians out of poverty.

In an addressed, Senior Special Assistant to the governor on humanitarian services, Hon. Imran Jibrin and focal person of Nasarawa social investment programme noted with satisfaction the huge amount of money being expended on school feeding program by government, saying it has positively impacted on the lives of all beneficiaries ranging from vendors, suppliers, cooks and pupils, hence governor Abdullahi Sule’s determination to sustain the programme.
