Nasarawa Majority Leader speaks as devastating flood wreak havoc in Awe
Hon Umar Tanko Tunga, the Majority Leader of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has visited the victims of flood in Tunga community of his constituency in Awe LGA of the State where flood destroyed properties worth millions of naira.
This, he said, was to ascertain the level of damage caused by the flood and to sympathize with the victims over the unfortunate occurrence.
The majority leader ( APC-Awe North) , has expressed optimism that the state government would come to the aid of the flood victims in order to reduce their plights and better their conditions within the shortest possible time.
” I am here to sympathize with you over the unfortunate incident of flood which has caused hardship to you and your family members.
” We all are aware that the flood which wreak havoc in this community and other communities across the state has destroyed houses, farm lands, killed animals and destroyed other valuable properties worth millions of Naira across the state.
” You may be aware or heard in the news and read in the pages of newspapers that the House of Assembly has passed a resolution directing the state government to provide relief materials to all flood victims across the state
” It is our hope that the state government will come to your aids as soon as possible because His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Alhaji Sule is a listening and caring Governor, who have the people of the state at heart,” he said.
Tunga urged the victims of the flood not to be disturbed by the ugly incident but to be prayerful and have trust in God.
Besides, he assured them of his readiness to continue to provide quality and sound representation at the state legislature.
The lawmaker called on the people of his constituency and the state at large to support Gov. Sule’s administration to succeed beyond 2023 and remain committed to constituted authorities at all times.
