Nasarawa Speaker receives deputy chairmen, assures of amicable resolution
Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, says that the issues of non payment of impress and furniture allowances to some Deputy Chairmen of the 13 local government areas by their Chairmen would be addressed amicably.
This, the Speaker said is to enable the Deputy Chairmen perform their duties without hitches and for effective service delivery, peace and unity.

The Speaker stated this while playing host to the forum of Deputy Chairmen of the 13 local government areas in his office in Lafia today.
He said the payment of impress and furniture allowances to the deputy chairmen would also improve their standard of living and that of the family members among other people.
According to him, I will not be happy if am in your shoes. I will not take the issue likely, you have joint tickets with your Chairmen, is constitutional and payment of your allowances is constitutional.
” I want to appreciate you for the visit and I want to assure you of my leadership readiness to address your challenges.
” I have heard all your complaints and your issue will be addressed amicably.
” I will invite the chairmen and you people for a round table discussion in order to solve the issue once and for all, I acknowledged your understanding and support as well as that of Councilors to the Chairman, please keep it up” he said.
The Speaker appreciated the Deputy Chairmen for the show of understanding and support to their chairmen and called for its sustenance.
He also called on the Deputy Chairmen to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule administration to succeed .

Earlier, Mr Lawal Yakubu Karshi, the Chairman of the Forum and Deputy Chairman of Karu local government area said that the visit was to congratulate the Speaker on his election as the Speaker of the Seventh Assembly.
He assured the Speaker of their prayers and support at all times.
The Chairman of the forum, however, appealed to the Speaker to intervene on non payment of impress and furniture allowances by some local government Chairmen to their Deputies.
” Sir, we want to appeal to you to intervene in the area of increasing our monthly impress of N200,000 considering the present economic challenges.
” We are appealing to you to intervene for constant payment of our monthly impress and furniture allowances, ” he said.
