….As House sets to deliberate on report of the Ad-hoc committee to investigate LG finances tomorrow Wednesday, Nov 23rd.
The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi has revealed that Gov. Abdullahi Sule, has approved the absorption of over 100 casual staff of the House into permanent and pensionable appointments.
Rt Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, disclosed this on the occasion of the presentation of the 2023 Appropriation Bill by Gov. Sule to the State Assembly today in Lafia.
The Speaker said that the members and staff of the Assembly would forever remain grateful to the Governor for the gesture.
” Let me use this opportunity to announce that His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, given the special place in his heart for the State Legislative, has approved that casual staff in the service of the Assembly be offered permanent and pensionable appointments.
” This indeed is a refreshing development that is worthy of commendation.
” I therefore join Honourable members, management and the entire staff of the House to appreciate His Excellency and say ” thank you sir.

” I will want to also exhort members of staff to reciprocate the kind gesture of our Governor by working hard at all times and remain loyal to the state government,” he said.
The Speaker prayed for the re-election of Gov. Sule in 2023 to enable him consolidate on the achievements he has recorded so far,
” Your Excellency, as the nation heads towards the 2023 general elections, it is the fervent prayers of the Assembly and indeed the entire people of the state that you emerge victorious so that you continue with your good work.
“This, I believe , is imperative as it will go a long way to enhance the fortunes of the State and enable it compete with other states in all areas of development,” he said.
In a related development, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has received the report of the Ad-hoc Committee to Investigate the Finances of Local Governments and Factors Responsible for Lack of Development at the Grassroot.
Hon Dahiru- Abdhallhi Angibi, the Chairman of the committee presented the report during the House proceedings today in Lafia.
The Speaker after receiving the report slated tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 23rd, 2023 for the deliberation of the report.
