Barr. Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, an aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries in Nasarawa West Senatorial District of the State has accused the Minister of Environment, Barr. Muhammed H. Abdullahi, of being interfering in the proceedings of Sunday’s primary.

Magaji who is a state counsel in the office of Attorney General, Federal Ministry of Justice Abuja, said at a press conference shortly after he returned from the State University Keffi, the venue for yet to commence primary, stated that the Minister had turned himself into an agent of his opponent, and APC Senate electoral committee saddle with the responsibility of the western senatorial district primary.

“To my greatest surprised I went to the State University Keffi, venue for the yet to commence senatorial primaries only to see strange faces being paraded as delegates from all the 5 LGAs that made up Nasarawa West Senatorial.”

“I have two LGAs delegates with me, that of Nasarawa and Toto LG which are 135 delegates but the APC senatorial electoral committee working for the Minister’s preferred choice has compromised the process and told me that all the LG delegates are seated and waiting to commence the election, but I raise the alarm because the list with them is a controversial doctored one.”

Magaji said the party’s leadership should remain neutral throughout the primary elections to instill confidence in the system.

Speaking on behalf of the senatorial aspirant, youths numbering over 3000 staged peaceful protests in solidarity with the aspirant and pleaded with the National Chairman of APC, Senator Adamu Abdullahi, and Governor Abdullahi Sule to call the Minister of Environment, Barr. Muhammed H. Abdullahi to order by prevailing on him to stop his bias and to allow all aspirants to go about their campaign without interference.

They maintained that the situation can cause disharmony in the Nasarawa West Senatorial District if left unchecked.

“Since he has been appointed to hold the esteemed office of the Minister position in the federal executive council, he has been enjoying the needed cooperation and support from all of us and the deserved respect accorded him,” Magaji.

“We are still pleading with him to play the fatherly role he is appointed to perform and remain neutral henceforth.”

Women who spoke under condition of anonymity accused the Minister of using the controversial doctored list to favor his preferred choice, calling on the Governor to check the excesses of the Minister before he cause more harm to APC in the State.
