The office of the Nasarawa State Social Investment Programme under the  leadership of Hon. Imran Usman Jibrin has officially flagged-off the Conditional Cash Transfer scheme, a federal government scheme initiated by present administration.

Hon. Imran Usman Jibrin, the Nasarawa Focal Person and Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule on Humanitarian Service, In a Press Statement issued on Thursday, 18 November, 2021 and made available to Global Times Nigeria Online online confirmed that Over 48,000 vulnerable households in Nasarawa earmarked to benefit from the Federal Government Conditional Cash Transfer Scheme of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP).

According to the Statement, The Senior Special Assistant made the disclosure at the flagged-off ceremony where he
said payment of six months arrears (#30,000) owed beneficiaries of National Conditional Cash Transfer in the State will be paid to over 48,000 beneficiaries across the six pilot LGAs.

While flagging off the scheme, Imran expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Honourable Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq for the support accorded to the most needy and vulnerable people in the state.

According to Imran, Nasarawa State is one of the few states to introduce a replica of the Federal Government Conditional Cash Transfer Programme in the State where a stipend of N5000 is paid monthly to beneficiaries cutting across the 13 LGAs of the State, saying that governor Abdullahi A Sule is working tirelessly to expand the scope of the State Cash Transfer Programme and also replicate all other programmes of the NSIP in the State.

While appreciating Governor Abdullahi A Sule for his support and commitment to the programme, Imran explained that the Conditional Cash Transfer programme is designed to benefit poor and vulnerable households with a bi monthly stipend of 10,000 naira (US$24.34).

He urged beneficiaries of the Federal Government gesture to utilize the cash to elevate the financial states of their families.
